About Rachel

Music has always been a part of the Rodriguez family’s life. Rachel’s father, Ray Rodriguez, was definitely her first and biggest influence. It was he who instilled in her his strong work ethic and emphasis on preparedness. It was clear early on that Rachel was a musical force to be reckoned with. At an early age, Rachel began singing and dancing at local festivals, fairs, and talent shows, in her home state of Michigan. By the time she was in high school, she had joined her father’s band, and began to really hone her skills.

To add to the impressive list of this young lady’s talents, Rachel is a songwriter, dancer, and talented bi-lingual performer. She’s very proud of her Hispanic Heritage and believes it is extremely important to integrate this into her performances and song writing.

Rachel loves all kinds of music, but says her roots are in Country. This is the reason she made the move to Nashville, TN. Apart from her father, Rachel’s greatest influences include Wynonna, Tina Turner, Patsy Cline, Bonnie Raitt, Loretta Lynn, Stevie Nicks, Gloria Estefan and Selena. “These women have not only inspired me with their phenomenal talent, but also with their incredible strength and determination” says Rachel, and those are certainly traits necessary to survive in Nashville’s competitive music scene. Being full of strength and determination herself, these days Rachel can be found making regular appearances at numerous venues around the city. Rachel has also established herself as one of the "first call" vocalists in the competitive studio scene.

Rachel released her first full-length album in 1999 entitled Dream It, Live It, featuring some of her original tracks as well as a few classics that she enjoys covering.

Recently, Rachel released her self-titled album, Rachel Rodriguez.
Rachel Rodriguez is an album that displays it's many varied influences. The CD combines Tex-Mex, Country, Rock, and Latin with Rachel's amazing voice. Rachel wrote and/or co-wrote all the songs and was very involved in the entire production. “Releasing a project like this, that is entirely mine, has been a long time personal goal and is a dream come true. I’m very proud of this project and anxious to share this with everyone who has been so supportive of me and my music. “
